Dry Eye

At Eyes on 3rd, we specialize in providing comprehensive dry eye treatments to enhance your ocular comfort and improve overall eye health. Our experienced team is dedicated to offering tailored solutions to address your specific needs when dealing with dry eye symptoms. From diagnostic assessments to personalized treatment plans, we prioritize your eye health and well-being.

Advanced Dry Eye Treatments

Dry eye is more than just a lack of tears—it is often caused by inflammation, poor tear quality, or dysfunction of the eyelids and oil glands. Our approach focuses on identifying and treating the root cause of your symptoms using advanced, non-device therapies designed to restore long-term comfort and eye health rather than providing temporary relief.

Treatment typically begins with targeted prescription therapies to reduce inflammation and improve natural tear production. These may include medicated eye drops such as cyclosporine or lifitegrast, short-term anti-inflammatory medications, and newer formulations that help prevent tear evaporation. For some patients, nasal spray therapy may also be used to stimulate the body’s natural tear response.

For patients with more advanced or persistent symptoms, we offer regenerative and biologic options such as autologous serum or platelet-rich plasma (PRP) eye drops. These treatments use your body’s own healing properties to repair the surface of the eye and improve overall tear function, providing a more restorative solution compared to traditional artificial tears.

We also address common underlying contributors such as eyelid inflammation and blocked oil glands through medical-grade lid hygiene and targeted treatments for conditions like Demodex. Additional therapies, including punctal plugs to retain natural tears and nutritional support such as omega-3 supplementation, help improve tear stability and reduce inflammation from within.

Our goal is to create a personalized treatment plan that combines the right therapies for your specific condition. By focusing on long-term improvement rather than quick fixes, we help patients achieve lasting relief, clearer vision, and healthier eyes without relying on device-based treatments alone.

Myopia Control

As a member of the American Academy of Orthokeratology and Myopia Control (AAOMC), we’re Plantation’s leading experts in myopia management and control. In fact, we’re certified to fit the only FDA-approved lenses for myopia: MiSight and Euclid Ortho Keratometry lenses. With our trusted guidance, you can overcome your myopia challenges and see with clarity again.

What is Myopia?

Myopia is a common eye disorder that affects all ages. Often called nearsightedness, myopia occurs when objects close to you are clear yet distant objects appear blurry. While it may be easy to read a book, seeing road signs while driving may be difficult, for example. In addition to difficulty seeing far away, other myopia symptoms include eye strain, headaches, and squinting to see clearly. A comprehensive eye exam can determine if you are struggling with myopia.

Why is Myopia So Dangerous?

In the past, myopia has been mainly associated with poor vision and thicker eyeglasses. Yet recent clinical studies indicate any level of myopia can lead to more severe eye diseases with age, including macular degeneration, cataracts, glaucoma, and even retinal detachment. Sadly, all of these diseases can result in blindness if left untreated. This means myopia needs to be properly managed now to help you continue to see clearly and prevent the further deterioration of your eyes. Don’t wait!

Lasik Consultation

Are you ready to permanently restore your vision?

Lasik procedures can correct your vision and help you see clearly without the need for eyeglasses or contacts.

At Eyes on 3rd, we offer consultation and preoperative screening services to identify whether you’re a candidate for Lasik surgery—so you can confidently determine if it’s right for you.

Specialty Contact Lenses

We understand that you can have difficulty wearing traditional contact lenses. That’s why we offer Plantation’s best selection of specialty lenses for unique eye conditions.

From scleral and rigid gas permeable lenses to custom soft or hybrid senses and more, you’ll find the lenses you need at Eyes on 3rd.

Pediatric Eye Care

Focusing on vision health now will give your child the best chance of enjoying clear vision and success in the future.

At Eyes on 3rd, we are dedicated to providing your child with the highest quality of care.  We can identify, treat and manage any potential vision problems – such as myopia, red eyes, conjunctivitis, or amblyopia/lazy eye – and provide a tailored treatment plan.

Give your child their best chance at a bright future by scheduling a pediatric eye exam today.

Optometric Vision Therapy

Optometric vision therapy is a type of non-surgical, doctor-supervised treatment program designed to improve the function of the visual system. It’s often used to treat visual problems that can’t be corrected with glasses or contact lenses alone.

What It Involves?

Vision therapy typically includes customized eye exercises and activities that
are done in-office (with a trained professional) and often reinforced with home
activities. These activities are designed to:

  • Train the eyes to work together more effectively
  • Improve focusing abilities
  • Strengthen eye coordination and tracking
  • Enhance visual processing skills

Conditions It Can Help With

Vision therapy is often recommended for:

  • Strabismus (eye turn)
  • Amblyopia (lazy eye)
  • Convergence insufficiency (difficulty bringing eyes together to focus up close)
  • Eye tracking issues
  • Binocular vision dysfunction
  • Visual problems related to learning difficulties (such as poor reading fluency or comprehension)
  • Post-concussion vision issues
  • Sports performance enhancement

Who benefits from it?

Patients of all ages can benefit from optometric vision therapy. Often children of school-age benefit from vision therapy as many of these conditions create barriers to learning in the classroom or on assessments. There are times when adults may benefit from vision therapy too.

Who Provides it??

Optometric vision therapy is usually provided by an optometrist, often one who specializes in behavioral or developmental optometry. It’s different from occupational therapy or physical therapy, even though it may sometimes be part of a broader rehab plan.

What’s your approach if I’m at risk for various eye diseases?

Several factors can increase your likelihood of eye diseases, from genetics and age to overall health and more. At Eyes on 3rd, we take a proactive approach to eye disease. This means we focus on eye care that prevents disease before it starts, rather than waiting for eye diseases to occur and treating their symptoms.

What eye care services do you offer at Eyes on 3rd?

As a comprehensive eye clinic, we provide a wide variety of eye care services for all ages, including: eye disease management, routine eye exams, myopia control, pediatrics, eyeglasses, traditional and specialty contact lenses, Ortho-K contact lenses, and more.

What's the difference between being nearsighted and farsighted?

If you’re nearsighted, this means you see objects better when they’re close to you, while objects farther away appear blurry. Being farsighted is just the opposite: objects close to you appear blurry while objects in the distance are clear. The overall term for these conditions is myopia.

How does your clinic control myopia?

At Eyes on 3rd, we’re experts at controlling your myopia so it doesn’t get worse. Diagnosed by an eye exam, we proactively manage your myopia by prescribing MiSight contact lenses, Ortho-K lenses, and Atropine therapy.

What are Ortho-K contact lenses?

Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K, involves using specially fitted contact lenses to correct your vision. These contact lenses are worn part-time to help reshape your cornea so you can see clearly without glasses. Used regularly, these lenses are typically worn at night and taken off during the day.
